As you drive by the War Monuments and flagpole near Borough Hall you probably noticed it looks different.
Three trees were removed from the property, as were the hedges that straddled the monument.
On Thursday, Big Mike’s Landscaping removed them down to their stumps. Yesterday, they returned to grind down those stumps and complete their portion of Phase One of the Monument Park Improvement Project.
The last part of Phase One can now proceed.
A fountain, pavers, and plantings, to be done by Daniel’s Landscaping, should be completed by May 30th.
Council intends to create a centerpiece for the borough in the form a passive, tranquil park that residents can quietly enjoy, when it is fully completed through a total of four phases.
