I’ve written previously about comments made by Mayor Gerald Gross during meetings that has made people wonder if he would fulfill the last two years of his 4-year term as Mayor. His off the cuff statements like, “I may be gone sooner than people think” can’t help but have many wondering.

At last night’s council meeting, Mayor Gross spoke on the subject of his comments regarding the possibility of stepping down before the end of his term.

Apparently, it has been on his mind and he addressed it publicly, though he didn’t commit either way.

Saying he cares about West Easton, he told those in attendance he is not sure of any decision, which he put forward often changes, depending upon the most recent situation that may occur.

Noting he still has his health, he said the stress levels can work on him, mentioning conflicts at council meetings and his daughter, Council President Kelly Gross, being a target even though she has done much for the borough.

A hug and kiss was delivered from Kelly Gross, who said, “Thanks Dad. At least somebody appreciates me.”

Mayor Gross said that he hasn’t made a decision yet, but if the time comes that he does decide to step down, he will let the council know in advance.
