There may be some filled seats at the Council Meeting on Monday night if residents are concerned about their future costs for trash removal.
Monday’s meeting may decide who is awarded the trash service contract.
With residents having seen their quarterly combined sewer and trash bill steadily rise the last few years, many are concerned that the highest bidder and current service provider, Waste Management, will be awarded the contract, resulting in another increase in their quarterly bills.
This council meeting comes a week after two residents reported observing Council President, Kelly Gross, leaving the Municipal Building and entering the truck of the Waste Management representative with, they alleged, what appeared to be a file or large manila envelope, shortly after the opening of the bids on November 2nd.
The public is urged to attend the council meeting on Monday, November 9th. The council meeting begins at 7 PM at the West Easton Municipal Building, located at 237 7th St.
UPDATE: 11/7 @ 1:45 PM
I received a call today, from a third party, that informed me Councilman Tom Nodoline has a video of Council President Kelly Gross exiting the Municipal Building after the opening of bids.
I was told that Mr. Nodoline reviewed the recording and has stated that Councilwoman Gross was not in possession of a folder or envelope of any kind.
Nodoline also stated, as was relayed to me, that the ride with the Waste Management representative was conducted to show the representative a couple of places his haulers missed on the route during their last pickup day.
