Mayor DePaul, Councilman Pete Mammana, and I took a trip to Days Inn, located in downtown Easton. We were on a scavenger hunt hoping to save taxpayers some money.

Days Inn has closed and is in the process of being purchased by the City of Easton. Easton hopes to have a huge fish tank there one day.

Days Inn was giving away just about everything that wasn’t nailed down. They were open to anyone willing to carry off items still in the rooms.

We were there hoping to find furnishings for the planned police department, braving the smell of old meth labs and the ghosts of old hookers.

We didn’t have much luck finding proper desks and chairs, but we were able to get a refrigerator and microwave for the station, as well as a few lamps.

I didn’t have the proper tools to “steal” a toilet.
