West Easton had its Halloween Parade yesterday evening.

All the volunteers did an outstanding job, as did those who participated in the parade.

I enjoy it because, though it falls close to Election Day every two years, there is no politics, and more importantly…

It’s for the kids.

It’s an event they enjoy, giving them the opportunity to show off their costumes and being the center of attention in a parade through the streets, complete with a marching band!

Adults also get in on the fun.

I’m always impressed by those parents who obviously spent time helping create a costume, or a theme that can involve the entire family. Even the family pet can be part of their theme, as was the case with the Wizard of Oz family who had their small dog play the role of Toto.

Rather than take a lot of photos this year, I decided to video the parade and the gathering at the park, including the Cake Walk.

The video begins at about 5:30 PM, when the kids started to gather at Keystone and Iron Streets.

I did some quick editing, piecing together snippets (and having some fun of my own in the “credits” at the end). As you will see in those credits, my video production crew was terrible, except for the one in charge of natural lighting and the weather.

Hopefully, I caught all the kids at some point and you enjoy the parade as much as I did.

Happy Halloween!
