An almost 2-hour long meeting has some interesting moments during the public comment period and other portions.

Mayor Gross presented his statement of past budget concerns and reasons why West Easton has a large reserve of money available in the budget.

I had urged Mayor Gross to provide information and promised to video the meeting so that he might answer the critics, myself being among those who question the need for the mil rate increase and ever increasing carry-over monies.

Council president Kelly Gross read a prepared statement regarding the budget and her opinion of why no tax rebate can be provided to residents. In a change from her usual demand for a Right to Know request for any borough documentation, she offered a printed copy of her statement to the public, for immediate viewing at Borough Hall.

The last few minutes of the meeting has Councilman Tom Nodoline campaigning for his handpicked appointee (1:51:10), who will be running a write-in campaign against other Democrats.

Though a resident was told by the Mayor that the meeting wasn’t a political forum (18:10), when the resident told people it was important to vote, no such admonition was given to Councilman Nodoline when he blatantly promoted his own candidate.
