Tricia Mezzacappa Falsely Accuses Navy Veteran On Council As Discharged Under “Other Than Honorable”

With West Easton Council seats on the ballot in 2017, West Easton Constable Tricia Mezzacappa appeared at last nights council meeting to impugn the reputation of a veteran. She came armed with a release form to obtain discharge papers from the National Archive on me, Matthew Dees.

I am a 5-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served from 1977-1982. I received an Honorable discharge. Mezzacappa doesn’t believe it.

Desperate for her own form of a “Birther” campaign, which I can only assume is the beginning of another attempt to get on Council in the upcoming election next year, she asked that I sign the release so that she could obtain my discharge papers. She expected me to provide a person without honor the opportunity to judge someone that served honorably.

Pressed for a reason by me, as I was unwilling to accept her curiosity as a legitimate reason to invade my privacy, I told her to bait her hook and put it on a pole so that I could take it and shove it back up from where she pulled this latest insinuation out of.

Her modus operandi is to insinuate, make accusations, and place doubt upon a person. She tries to destroy people using these tactics and it has cost her. Blogger Bernie O’Hare took her to task for it, got her car, and $40,000.

Her antics are nothing new toward me. In 2013 she called my employer, telling them she believed I hacked her computer or possibly broke into her house to steal a picture of her pig (really, this was what she told them), I was running an illegal auction website, and that I was “dangerous,”  among her other screwy accusations.

I work with Special Needs children and accusations, no matter how bizarre or warped, often gets attention for legal protections required of my employer.

On her hate blog she ran at the time, “West Easton Foot Print,” she impersonated me to insult others and created false personas, talking to herself in conversations and insinuating I was a pedophile in the comments she posted as other people. She even provided a link that led to a porn advertisement, claiming I owned the domain on which it rested.

I actually requested my employer conduct an investigation on me, due to her cRaZy conduct and what she placed on her hate blog. After I led them through a traceback of links she posted, personas she created (such as, “Doug Camaro”), and having them read her hate blog postings about me, others, and her “opinions,” they were actually worried about my own safety.

But, back to her most recent failed attempt to raise doubts about me.

I asked if she thought I received anything other than an Honorable discharge.

“There are other types of discharges,” she responded. “I have my doubts about yours.”

If she were a man (should I ask for proof she is not?) and it was 35 years ago, I would have punched her in the mouth, but I’ve learned as I aged, that physical altercations are a last resort. Even arguing with an idiot is futile. I believe it was Mark Twain who said, it requires you to sink to their level and because they have so much experience at being stupid you will surely lose any argument.

Instead, knowing that she would be pulling this obscene stunt and fishing expedition, I had prepared myself. I asked why she wasn’t questioning fellow Councilman Paul James, who also served in the U.S. Navy (and retired from military service).

“I believe him to be an honest person,” she answered. That was all I needed to hear.

I asked Mr. James to look at my DD214, which I brought with me. Having one of his own, he could recognize what it was and as a fellow veteran whom I had previous conversations regarding our service time in the Navy, I would only trust him to view such a private government document.

He confirmed it was mine. I asked him to read the word shown in the “Character of Service” area, that I just highlighted for him. The COS indicates the type of discharge one has received.

“Honorable,” he said.

“Louder, so she can hear it,” I requested.

“Honorable,” he repeated loudly, so that everyone could not mistake it for anything other than that.

Now, most normal people would offer an apology before they slither back under their rock, but Tricia Mezzacappa is not like most people. She doubles down.

She stated she will offer me another “chance” to sign the release at the next Council meeting.

Most people, and especially veterans, know what I want to tell her and probably wouldn’t fault me for using language appropriate and deserving toward her, but I serve on Council and have to maintain a little bit of proper decorum – but only a little bit.

She can shove that release form up the same place I shoved her accusation of me receiving anything less than an Honorable discharge.

Go back to supporting your heroes, Tricia. People like, Rockne Newell, Ross Township murderer. Hate is no way to live your life. Rather than hate you, I will continue to pity you and hope you conquer your mind’s demons some day.

UPDATE 12/14 1:10 PM – Just got a visit from PSP following up on a complaint from Mezzacappa. She claimed to feel threatened by that imaginary pole and hook being shoved back up where she pulled her insinuation out of. I’m guessing that means it wasn’t out of her tackle box.

A veteran himself, he just stopped by to let me know he had to show he followed up and thought she was out of line, as well.
