In 2013 an Ordinance was approved by that Council, which amended uses permitted within West Easton’s Light Industrial (LI) Zoning Districts.

The purpose of the Ordinance was to provide adaptive reuse of structures within the LI District, to allow Assisted Living Facilities, Residential Treatment Centers, Residential DUI Centers, and multi-family apartments to provide housing for older persons needing assistance in varying degrees.

The Chipman Mill property falls within the LI District and on January 8th a Conditional Use hearing will be held at 6:30 PM to address the issues regarding conditional use of a planned 176-Bed Residential Treatment Center.

While Ordinance No. 966 addresses some conditions of use, it is not a document that prevents other conditions of use from being discussed or imposed.

The public is encouraged to attend the meeting on Monday to comment on their own concerns, or to provide Council with relevant information that might be addressed during the hearing.
