There was little West Easton could do to alleviate the shut-down of restaurants, despite borough representatives desire to assist our businesses that have been good neighbors in our community.

Northampton County was still designated “red” by Governor Wolf and even going to “yellow” would have kept Dubs on 5th closed.

However, with the recently updated guidelines issued by Wolf, Dubs on 5th may be able to get back to business sooner than expected.

Governor Wolf is now allowing restaurants to serve customers with outside seating only, in areas designated “yellow,” and it is expected that Northampton County will see that new designation on June 5th.

Because of this new guideline borough officials will be meeting with Dubs on 5th owner, Mr. Lex Wilkinson, in order to review his plans for re-opening, during an informational meeting that will review the guidelines set forth by Gov. Wolf’s office.

Guidelines from the state include seating capacity, distancing, marked patron boundaries, and other requirements. There will also be those of the borough, regarding hours of outside operation and compliance of noise ordinances.

West Easton hopes to see Dubs on 5th successful in its plan to once again provide fine food and beverages to its customers.
