Dead Pit Bull Dumped In West Easton

One person has apparently moved beyond our problem of cars being abandoned on West Easton streets and lowered the bar. The person abandoned the carcass of a dog.

The dead dog was found in the alley area behind Ridge Street. The dog, described as a large brown Pit Bull, was found by a property owner on Ridge Street over the weekend, already in the early stages of decomposition. It had no tags of ownership on it.

Pennsylvania State Police were contacted over the weekend and responded. PSP then contacted the Easton Police Department to see if the dog was possibly related to a Pit Bull attack on a small child, that occurred last week in Easton’s South Side area. EPD reported that the attacking dog in that incident was accounted for.

Dane Thatcher, our Road Department Supervisor was notified yesterday morning and was assisted with its disposal by our part-time summer help worker, Hunter.

PSP found no obvious cause of death in the abandoned dog carcass and is not investigating further.
