Citing health reasons, Councilman Timothy Jones submitted his letter of resignation to the West Easton Council earlier this month.

Mr. Jones resignation took affect at 12:01 am, this morning.

Though I was unable to attend the council meeting yesterday evening, I’m told that the letter of resignation was not read and Mr. Jone’s resignation was not made public, but I am unable to confirm this. I will try to do so tomorrow.

Mr. Jone’s resignation comes on the heels of West Easton Council finally filling another vacant council seat after a 4 month delay, while they sought a candidate willing to take the seat of deceased Councilman Charlie Stout, Jr.

If you have dreams of becoming a councilperson, now may be your best opportunity.

They will again be scrambling to find a volunteer and this time the clock is ticking.

They have 30 days in which to fill this vacancy and your letter of interest to serve on the council should be submitted at the borough’s Municipal Building.
