Two major issues were resolved at last night’s West Easton Council Meeting.

Adamson Street repairs are expected to be completed within the next 2 weeks. Though less than the $93,000 originally approved will be spent, the new price of approximately $74,700 will not include the removal of the steel trolley rails and railroad ties that exist below the surface of the roadway.

A representative from the engineering firm, Barry Isett and Associates, hired by the 2016 Council, took heat from a number of Councilmen and the Mayor, who were less than satisfied with the situation that occurred leading up to the stoppage of work on the street.

Council voted 5-1 (H. Nodoline dissenting, P. James absent) to approve the change order to the project

The issue of whether the Caselle software program, purchased from Dallas Data Systems for more than $33,000, to replace the AMS software program, was voted on. The newly submitted yearly maintenance and support contract from Dallas Data Systems would have required the borough to pay $9450 each year, beginning January 1, 2017.

The Borough will remain with the original AMS software that is still online in the office and meets the needs of our community. The cost of AMS maintenance and support is $2232 each year. A representative from AMS attended the meeting to answer any questions regarding the software, its capabilities, and its ability to meet potential future needs the borough might require.

Council voted unanimously to end the Dallas Data Systems contract.
