Constable Tricia Mezzacappa Pivots Racism To Economy

In apparent attempt to justify systemic racism,  Constable Tricia Mezzacappa is making an argument that the awakening of America doesn’t improve the economic lives of 99% of Americans.

It’s eerily similar to the argument southern states made as the Civil War approached. Slavery couldn’t end because the country would be devastated economically and all the world would suffer without the slave labor that produced cotton, which was the most valuable export of the United States at the time.

Racists just don’t get it.

This desperate tactic of positioning themselves behind a ridiculous argument of there being no economic improvement through  demonstrations is absurd. Any economic improvement will take many years to be seen for those who have historically earned less because of skin color.

The fact that corporations are recognizing systemic racism exists and are working to remove images that promote it, is proof that the message is being heard and racists are now getting desperate in trying to keep our society racially divided.

In an effort to get the point across to racists who try to paint themselves as economists, rather than the racists they are, I’ll reverse a tagline from the 1992 presidential campaign:

It’s NOT about the economy, stupid!
