Can You Hear Me Now? Phone Line Problems At Borough Hall

Phone problems at West Easton Borough Hall appeared Friday with the loss of land line communications. Callers could be heard, but they couldn’t hear the person in the office who was responding to them.

Initially thought to be a problem with the computer modem, which routes the calls through the phones, it turns out that it wasn’t so technical.

The culprit may have been a squirrel that chewed through the insulation of the outside line entering the building, allowing water from the recent rains to enter the wire and cause a short.

Phones are expected to be up and running at some point on Monday, when a technician from the phone company is scheduled to repair the line.
