Borough Hall will be stripped of its shingles and have a new roof installed this year.

The existing roof shingles are the originals that were rated as 25-year shingles when Borough Hall was built.

The replacement roof was delayed in 2016, when Councilman Henry Nodoline approached the subject. Council voted to patch the roof that year, to delay the major expense of a replacement.

At Monday’s Council meeting, a roofer was selected to replace the old shingles with 50-year shingles and a synthetic felt underlay.

Quotes were previously obtained from roofers and the project has been awarded to the lowest bidder, M.J. Shisslak Roofing and Siding, who won the job with a quote of $11,100.
